Uber wants to be 'superapp' for all things transportation

As a phrase “I will take a taxi” slowly turned into “I will get Uber,” It’s hard to deny that the company starts the true revolution in urban transportation. Now, it seems that Uber wants to take steps further than the current car ranks, and we don’t mean through food delivery. The company has just announced that it plans to add a new form of order to its application, including aircraft, trains and car rentals. This will be done through the network of partners and uber resources themselves.

Moving this highlights Uber’s desire to become an application in for all things traveling. Jamie Heywood, regional general manager Uber UK, said as much as referring to Uber as a “one-stop-shop for all your travel needs.” Heywood also mentions that this is a natural development and brand expansion.

While most users turn to Uber instead of using traditional taxi services, the company also has a branch of a successful food delivery named Uber Eats. Besides the car, it also gives users the ability to order bicycles, boat services and scooters. Now, he plans to add new functionality to the Uber Base application, but this will not be available for all users: the new Uber travel feature is only released at U.K. For now. However, it does not mean uber easily in U.S – recently, the company announced the ability to order Yellow New York taxi in the application.

Trains, boats, flights, and maybe hotels

Start soon after this summer, uber users at U.K. Will be able to order trains, buses and car rentals. Uber also plans to add the ability to buy airplane tickets this year, but mention that this feature might require more time launched. Of course, this does not mean that Uber suddenly buys several aircraft to make their own airline – instead, that means it has landed several partnerships (tend to be profitable) with various travel companies and reservations.

Even though this has not been properly said, it makes sense that Uber is likely to be cut for ordering, encouraging sales for both applications itself and partners who sell tickets directly. The company has not released a list of partnerships, but Uber promised to announce this “in the coming months.” Some of these companies include the National Rail and Coach Companies, and Uber plans to also provide cross-channel train sales.

After all these new features make it into the application, Uber still has a big plan for future expansion. The company has stated that he plans to enter more than just a trip, and one day can add hotel bookings to the menu. At present, it is difficult to say whether the service is like booking.com needs to worry, but it looks like Uber has a plan that is greater than what most of us have imagined for the application.
