Electric start-up energy based in Bengaluru, simple energy has signed an MOU with US C4V-based battery makers to prepare lithium-ion cell manufacturing facilities for cells in India. The partnership, which aims to impose dependence on imports, also aims to create battery-making ecosystems in India and add value to the manufacture of India.
C4V is expected to carry and sophisticated lithium-ion battery technology — Lithium-ion battery cells are a central unit of any electric vehicle (EV) — to power two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles. C4V is currently in the final stage of commissioning im3ny gigafactory located in the northern part of New York, USA targets production for the next few months in 2022.
Simple Energy and C4V facilities in India will appear for 600 acre plots, where the former plans to build a second EV factory as part of a phase expansion plan 2. Simple energy has announced the investment of Rs 2500 Crore in the EV manufacturing plant setting in Tamil Nadu. Simple energy puts $ 150 million (approximately RS 1136 Crore) in the new Lithium Ion cell manufacturing unit.
R & D to focus on battery security too
The partnership between the two companies will work on P-, N-, S-Series C4V technology (Lithium Slim Energy Reserve), which is said to offer better security, higher energy density than LFP, fast charging and longer life cycles based on technology Patented.
“By partnering with C4V, we will consolidate cell supplies, which are vital components for us. This strategy will also make us more independent and reduce our dependence on imports,” Shththth Mishra said, the word co-founder, shared word, statement.
The two companies are also expected to focus on R & D to make cells safer for batteries, which in the current scenario in this country, is what the doctor ordered.
“C4V looks forward to this strategic collaboration, thus supporting the development of the EV industry in India,” said Kuldeep Gupta, VP – Strategic, said C4V.
